Exploring Research Fields in Nepal
Physiologists, as well as most scientists of the basic medical subjects, in Nepal are traditionally viewed as ‘teachers’ to various undergraduate medical and health science courses. Research activities are still lacking due to limitations of time, resources, and prioritization. As a result, the small numbers of research activities that are taking place are often inadequate in terms of size, methodology, and generation of knowledge. The theme of the conference draws attention to the relative lack of research activities in Nepal and calls to the scientific community to fulfil this void. The theme also encourages scientists to identify suitable fields and initiate researches in Nepal that would contribute to the body of scientific knowledge.
